A double celebration for Residents’ 60th wedding anniversaryHC-One’s Melbury Court Care Home in Durham have been celebrating the 60th wedding anniversary of Resident Cathleen Sexton.

Melbury Court had a phone call from Cathleen’s daughter, Katie, explaining that it was her mum’s 60th wedding anniversary so the home made sure that she celebrated in style.

Katie sent over some old photographs of her mum, which the home printed off and put into frames for Cathleen to keep.

The afternoon trolley consisted of cake, which was lovingly made by the kitchen team and bubbly along with a presentation to Cathleen. Her favourite music was played throughout the event and everyone enjoyed playing the anniversary waltz.

This was the second celebration for Cathleen who was taken home the previous Sunday to have a party with her husband, John, and family.

Katie rang Melbury Court the next day and said:

“Thank you to everyone involved for planning this lovely event for my mum. I spoke to her on the phone and she said much of a wonderful afternoon she had.”

Cathleen was overwhelmed with everything and thanked everyone. The Residents and the team at Melbury Court all raised a glass to Catleen and John.
