A digital activity trial at The Red HouseA brand new digital activitiy table has been trailled for Residents at the Red House. Several Residents were invited to test the versatility of the new activity and experience what it can do as individuals and as a group. It is designed to cater for people’s activity needs.

For one afternoon Residents became fully immersed in the range of activities the device can offer.

One of the Residents is a very keen snooker fan and was able to try playing snooker, and then he tested his skills at ten-pin bowling and won to a member of staff, which he was very pleased about, “I loved the bowling and snooker”.

Another Resident tried a colouring game which involved drawing pictures and setting off a firework displayed.

A member of staff commented, “This is a great activity aid and had a range of different things to do to suit all abilities It would have been useful to help spread the activities around the room as a mobile”.

A third Resident looked at animals and pictures of dogs which brought back memories of his own animals. This person further did some puzzles and quizzes, he remarked, “Can we get one of these permanently?”

Both Residents and staff liked it and are now exploring the cost and use of money raised for all Residents in the amenities. It would benefit everyone in the home”.

Keith Ware, Home Manager, explained, “It was good to see the activity aid being used and to see once it was set up, how easy it was. It was so versatile, everyone could use it”.
