Residents at
Falstone Court, residential dementia care home in Roker, Sunderland had a lovely day out visiting a local museum along with Residents at Falstone Manor.
The Residents always loved getting out and about so Residents from both Falstone Court and Falstone Manors along with the Wellbeing Coordinators took a trip out on the minibus to Beamish Museum.
The Residents love a good reminiscence session, so Colleagues thought a little more outside the box and came up with the trip to Beamish.
This was a fun packed day full of reminiscence about their past time and it brought back so many lovely memories for them all.
They enjoyed cups of tea and coffee and even had a toasted crumpet with fresh butter and jam warmed up on the open fire in front of them.
All the Residents remembered eating breakfast this way most mornings at home when they were small.
Julie Merritt, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was nice for our Residents from both homes to interact and enjoy time in a lovely cottage at Beamish. It brought back good memories.”
