A day of exploration for Residents at Whitley Bay care homeHC-One’s Eastbourne House Care Home in Whitley Bay, County Durham enjoyed their first full day bus outing.

Eastbourne House have recently gained access to this service, having only had access to half day trips before, which has allowed them to travel further afield and make full use of the day.

Beatrice Smith, Sylvia Parr and Judith Hunt, Residents at Eastbourne House, paid a visit to Simonside Hills at Northumberland National Park and Rothbury as well as Highley Gate Garden Centre. 

Residents enjoyed a picnic on the riverside in Rothbury, which consisted of sandwiches, crisps, fruits and biscuits with plenty of tea, coffee and juice to wash it all down.

Everyone was visited by the local ducks and enjoyed watching the wildlife go by.

Resident Sylvia Parr commented:

“It was great to have a change of scenery and I loved sitting on the riverside and smelling the grass and trees.”

Eastbourne House’s Home Manager, Debbie White commented:

“The Residents all looked so relaxed when they came back and everyone was in such high spirits.”
