A click back in time for Resident’s photography love at Leicestershire care homeThe Willows care home is the home to a dementia Resident whom the staff knew very little about; this was due to them having no surviving family or friends to discuss this with.

However, this week the Resident’s social worker dropped off some personal items which were found at the previous residence, those personal items started a story that would help staff to create something very special. Within those items there were several albums and scrap books full of photos.

The Resident was delighted to see the albums and Colleagues found out they were a keen amateur photographer.

This week staff took the Resident out in the garden with a camera for the Resident to take pictures of the new garden visiting area as well as some beautiful flowers, ornaments and shrubbery. The Resident said, “Look at the beautiful yellow roses, shall I get those?" Please see accompanying picture.

The photos were then processed and uploaded on a screen for the Resident to see – they were so pleased with the results and very proud.

Anna Nowak, Home Manager, observed, “It was wonderful to see the smile on their face and for them to be able to take part in a much -oved hobby once more"
