A chance meeting for The Red HouseWhen Home Manager, Keith Ware, was in his local GP, he did not expect to come across Ted, a Chelsea Pensioner in uniform, in the waiting room. After sparking up a conversation about life as a Chelsea Pensioner, Ted was invited to meet the Residents at The Red House, to which he accepted.

The Residents were pleasantly surprised when they received this visit, as he stayed a while to speak to everyone in the home, taking the time to show an interest in their lives, as well as sharing stories of his own.

Alongside Ted, an Army relative of his came along to share some stories of his own, and this was a success with Residents as they enjoyed learning so much about their lives. One Resident even commented “This is fantastic! It has made my day, and it’s such a great gesture for him to have visited the home”

Home Manager, Keith, also commented “It was great to see Ted in full uniform, but to have him here visiting the home was just wonderful. A great time was had by all.”

What a wonderful gesture by Ted!
