104th birthday celebrations at Manchester care homeCelebrations were in full swing at HC-One’s Ringway Mews care home in Manchester as Resident Edna Swann marked her 104th birthday.

Edna was born in Manchester on 21st January 1915 and grew up in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy with her younger brother Alfred, who sadly lost his life during World War 2.

She went on to get married to husband Norman in 1940, and has loved seeing her family expand over the years as she became an Auntie and Great Auntie.

After 104 years, Edna has revealed that her secret to a long life is to keep smiling and stay happy.

Edna, who has been a Resident at Ringway Mews since December 2015, celebrated her special day with her family and fellow Residents. Everyone enjoyed a birthday buffet together, surrounded by bunting and balloons.

Heather Pickup, Home Manager, said: “At HC-One, we go the extra mile to make each of our Residents’ birthdays special. Edna is an amazing lady who is loved by everyone here at Ringway Mews, so we were delighted to be able to celebrate her 104th birthday with her.”
