104 Years Young for Brookdale View Resident
Edna Ackerley, a Resident at HC-One’s Brookdale View Care Home in Manchester celebrated her 104th birthday with her family, friends and fellow Residents.
 
Edna is from Cheetham Hill in Manchester and worked most of her life for Civil Services and for JD Williams.
She was a keen ballroom dancer and frequented the Ritz and the Plaza in Manchester.
 
To mark the special day, Brookdale put on a party for Edna, which was attended by family, friends, members of the care team, and fellow Residents.
 
There was a live entertainer and the home decorated Edna’s bedroom and the dining room with balloons and banners. Edna was presented with a birthday cake and everyone sang happy birthday.
 
When asked her secret to long life, Edna remarked:
 
“”The key to living a long time, is to keep dancing and keep moving, also that the wheel of fate needs to give you a bit of luck!”
