10-year-old school pupil surprises Bellshill ResidentsResidents from HC-One’s Hatton Lea home in Bellshill received a parcel from a local school pupil on Thursday to help them get through the days ahead.

Mary, 10, created a parcel for the Residents that included a lovely letter, 3 DVD’s and her mums favourite biscuits, custard creams.

The letter read:

‘Hi, my name is Mary and I am 10 years old and I live in Bellshill, Scotland and I want to help you not feel sad.’

I would like to give you some gifts from my house. We will give you biscuits and a DVD. I want to give you these things because so you can be bored and I want to give you the biscuits because I want to be nice (it’s my mums favourite biscuits).’

I know how you’re feeling because I am isolated too. My school is closed and I can’t see my friends anymore.’

My ice-skating show has been cancelled and I have been practicing for weeks! But I shouldn’t complain because I know other families have it much worse.’

Please have fun eating my mums’ biscuits and watching the movie.’

Hatton Lea’s Home Manager, June Sugden said, “I am so touched by Mary's kindness and we will share this with our staff and residents.”
