HC-One brings Home Managers together for leadership conferenceHC-One brought together its home managers, operational teams and support office colleagues for its ‘Even Better Together’ leadership conference in June. The event, held in Birmingham, is a further example of HC-One's investment in colleagues, and their continued growth, as they support residents to lead their best lives.

With almost 300 homes across England, Scotland and Wales, it is very rare that HC-One’s Home Managers and wider leadership colleagues are all together in the same room. HC-One’s conference was an exciting occasion, and a great opportunity to share learning, discuss innovations in services and build deeper relationships, in person.

With leadership and interactive sessions throughout the two days, on topics such as the residents’ experience, the colleague journey and dementia. the jam-packed agenda was also an opportunity to celebrate HC-One’s recent achievements, and plan for what’s to come. This includes:
          ●  Advancing HC-One’s digital transformation programme
          ●  Continuing to evolve to meet the changing care needs through a person’s care journey
          ●  Developing new service offerings, such as HC-One’s Specialist Dementia Care Communities
          ●  The work underway to ensure every new colleague has a wonderful experience when they join us

Colleagues were also treated to an inspirational session with Claire Lomas MBE who is a campaigner, fundraiser, motivational speaker and former event rider. Focusing on facing adversity, Claire spoke about her personal journey of changing your mindset and making the most of every opportunity.

HC-One’s ‘Even Better Together’ conference followed HC-One’s inaugural ‘Better Together’ conference in November 2021, and served as a reminder that HC-One is even greater than the sum of its parts and by continuing to learn, develop and grow as one, the team can be even better together for the benefit of the residents they care for.

John Handley, Chief People Officer at HC-One, said:
“I was honoured to spend two days with our inspirational colleagues who are at the heart of what we do at HC-One. We have really incredible leaders at HC-One, and we have achieved so much together over recent years to really enhance the care we provide.

"This conference was a great opportunity to further support our leaders’ personal and professional growth, and equip them with what they need to engage their own teams in our journey. Following our successful leadership conference, we are excited about what’s to come, and full of new ideas and inspiration to do even more to support those in our care to lead their best lives.”
