Committed Welsh Area Director named as the Gold Winner of the Leadership and Management in ResidentiJacqueline Orrells, Area Director at HC-One, has been successful in being selected as the Gold Winner of the ‘Leadership and Management in Residential or Nursing Care Award’ at the well-respected Wales Care Awards 2022. 

Jacqueline is an Area Director for HC-One’s 14 care homes in Wales. Under Jacqueline’s strong leadership skills, the homes have become one large family to ensure the best care is delivered to Residents. 

Jacqueline was named the Gold Winner of the ‘Leadership and Management in Residential or Nursing Care Award’ at the Wales Care Awards 2022, which took place on Friday 21st October 2022 at City Hall in Cardiff. Jacqueline was selected as the winner of this award category due to leading her team to deliver best practice, using her effective leadership skills and being a role model to others to embed citizen led practice. 

Caroline Price, Area Director at HC-One, who nominated Jacqueline for the award, commented: 
“I am delighted that Jacqueline has won at the Wales Care Awards 2022. Jacqueline encompasses the spirit of care, a culture of support and the ethos of HC-One as the heart of kindness. She always has time for her Colleagues and invests in them by providing such a high level of support, through teaching and providing advice to them as well as encouraging them to develop in their work by learning new skills and progressing in their careers. Jaqueline also ensures to promote all Government policies and practices amongst her teams and leads by example.
“Jacqueline’s practice enhances the quality of service provision by mentoring Colleagues in the homes in Wales. She is a role model to many of her Colleagues and provides a person-centred approach to all Residents within the care homes in Wales.” 


Jacqueline Orrells, Area Director at HC-One and winner of the Leadership and Management in Residential or Nursing Care Award at the Wales Care Awards 2022, said:
