Redcar care home Residents hold remembrance for Battle of Britain 80th anniversaryResidents at HC-One’s Roseberry Court in Redcar recently remembered the Battle of Britain, and reminisced about war time and how brave our soldiers were.

Residents and Colleagues looked at lots of different memorabilia from that day and said a little prayer for the fallen. Residents loved looking at and chatting about the spitfires and Winston Churchill, about the bravery during this battle and also the women’s role serving as radar operators and plotters.

Roseberry Court Resident Donald said: “Did you know that not all our pilots were British who fought in this battle?”

The afternoon remembering the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain was ended by having a sing a long together. Residents and Colleagues sang some classic wartime songs such as; White Cliffs of Dover, Kiss Me Goodnight and We’ll Meet Again, then refreshments were served for all.

Roseberry Court Home Manger, Robin Bennett said: “Residents today celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, with a history chat and sing a long together.”
