Newton Aycliffe care home Residents learn sign languageResidents at HC-One’s St Clare’s Court care home in Newton Aycliffe decided to learn some sign language in February.

A group of Residents wanted to learn sign language, so a lady visited the home to teach some basic words and phrases, during the session Residents also signed to music which was enjoyable for everyone.

After the session, Residents agreed that it was good to learn some sign language and are hoping to learn some more throughout 2020. One Resident said: “It is lovely to learn something new that will help me to communicate with others.”

Michelle Jones, St Clare’s Court Home Manager said: “It’s great to see our Residents learning a new skill, I can’t wait to see Resident’s using the sign language they have learnt.”
