Middlesex care home joins in with World Dog DayTo celebrate World Dog Day, Colleagues at HC-One’s The Harefield arranged for Laundry Assistant, Louise Gardiner and Kitchen Assistant, Amy Robinson to bring in their dogs for all the Residents to see.  Louise brought in her Boxer called Ruby and Amy brought in her Corgi called Wizard.

Colleagues took both dogs around both of the care home units to see the Residents in the lounges and in their rooms.

“Our Residents certainly adored seeing the dogs.  Wizard and Ruby were absolutely adorable.  The dogs were full of energy and loved being with our Residents.

“Our Residents revelled in stroking and playing with Ruby and Wizard.  With many of them having been former dog owners, this was a great activity to help them reminisce upon their lives”.

Some of the home’s Residents were delighted. In particular, Joan Squire absolutely adored seeing the dogs.  She used to have a dog herself which she misses terribly.  Seeing Wizard was the highlight of her day. Also, Oda Prestwich thought the dogs were absolutely fantastic.  Her massive grin was heart-warming for everyone to witness.

Home Manager, Mary Nadeem, thought this was a delightful way to bring some extra cheer into the Harefield.
