When the world stayed apart – a story from AvonparkAvonpark wanted something to symbolise the operations of the home throughout the last six months during the pandemic, to show some positivity. That’s when Senior Wellbeing Coordinator Leanne Sims found a local artist to capture the moment and to resemble all the Staff and Residents at HC-One in one beautiful image.

Leanne took time to design the picture and then it was kindly donated to the home for a remembrance of when Avonpark went into isolation due to Covid-19.

Leanne commented, “We all went through the same experience with lockdown and Avon Park staff really did go over and beyond. We all pulled together as a team and tackled the lockdown to support our resident and provide the best personal care, I wanted to do something to represent the time through lockdown, when we really did all come together as one”.

The picture now hangs pride of place in reception on the wall for all to see.

Residents thought it was nice how the picture covered everyone in the home and thought it was a very thoughtful gesture.

Mitchelo Kalengo, who is the Home’s Manager, remarked, “It is good to keep memories to show the hard and challenging times we have been through as a home”.
