VE celebrations at The Moat HouseResidents at HC-One’s The Moat House care home enjoyed an afternoon of celebrations as they commemorated the 75th anniversary of VE day.

Colleagues dressed as Land and Army girls in tribute to some of those who served in the Second World War. Everyone then observed a two minute silence before Residents sat to recall their personal memories of VE day.

A sing song was then enjoyed by all of some well-known songs from the war time, before everyone indulged in a traditional cup of tea and delicious treats.

Later in the afternoon, Residents joined together to raise a toast to the heroes of the war and then went on to enjoy an afternoon cream tea complete with scones decorated with a Union Jack.

Home Manager, Noreen Adkin, commented: “It was wonderful to see everyone singing together and enjoying the atmosphere. A great day has been had by all.”
