Uddingston care home unveils new arts and crafts roomHC-One’s Highgate care home in Uddingston has introduced a community recreation room for Residents, friends, family and members of the team to explore their creative sides.

The recreation room provides a relaxing environments where the community at Highgate can take part in arts and crafts activities, the room is quickly becoming very popular with both Residents and visitors to the home.

Highgate hopes to get the local school children and community groups involved in craft projects in the recreation room. Residents have commented on how much they are enjoying using the room and are looking forward to taking part in more activities in the future.

One Resident commented: “The room is so lovely and bright, I enjoy working on different pieces while chatting with other people.”

Jennifer McKellar, Home Manager at Highgate said: “The new recreation room is such a great space for Residents to be creative and get involved in projects, I look forward to seeing all of the wonderful things that they create.”
