Tameside care home reminisces visiting the seasideHC One’s The Beeches care home took a trip down memory lane today with a seaside themed morning.

Colleagues at the Tameside care home put on a Punch and Judy show, and everybody joined in looking through old holiday brochures. Residents enjoyed holding old shells from the beach and playing with some beach balls.

It was so lovely to hear all of the memories that Residents shared about paddling in the sea, watching seaside shows and enjoying donkey rides along the sand with their families.

There was seaside music playing out in the home, it really did make everyone feel like they were back there just minus the sand!

Freda, one of the Residents, said “I have enjoyed this morning, it was just like being at the seaside.” Gladys another Resident said “what a lovely morning, it really brings back happy memories.”

Wellbeing coordinator Sade commented “This morning has been lovely and interesting some of the things I had not seen before. It was so great hearing the memories of taking their families to the seaside. We had a really enjoyable morning.”
