Summer fayre excitement at Acorn HollowResidents at HC-One’s Acorn Hollow enjoyed a day of excitement as the home held their annual summer fayre, in which they were joined by Relatives and members of the local community, as well as Residents from HC-One’s Avandale Lodge care home.

The sun was shining beautifully as the garden was decorated with bunting and gazebos for a day of summer fun. Many attended as a BBQ was held alongside tombola stalls which raised a fantastic £130 for the Residents’ comfort fund, and live entertainment was provided by an Elvis impersonator who was a favourite for many as everyone sang and danced along to the songs.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and commented on how the BBQ had brought them back to their early days in their gardens.

During the event, everyone was able to enjoy a deliciously refreshing ice cream as they chatted and laughed with one another.

Rachel Astles, Home Manager, commented: “It’s been a lovely afternoon for all and the sunshine has made the day even better, it’s always nice to see Residents with smiled on their faces.”
