Stalybridge care home celebrated 75th anniversary of VE DayStaff and Residents at HC One’s Millbrook care home really got into the celebration of VE Day today.

Obviously nobody could have ever envisioned that friends and family wouldn’t be able to be directly involved in such a special occasion, however the Stalybridge home made sure it would still be a fantastic day even in lockdown.

A celebratory buffet was put together by the kitchen staff for Residents to enjoy, the themed cupcakes went down a treat!

There was music from the time period playing throughout and Residents made their very own VE day hats. There was even ice creams given out during the day too.

One of the Residents commented “Even with their face masks on we could still tell they were all smiling!"

Home manager Andy Bradley said “We had a lot planned for today but sadly without singers being able to visit and other activities unable to go ahead we tried our best. The most important thing was that the Residents enjoyed the day as it was very important point in their lives and we cannot wait for our victory against the pandemic!”
