HC One’s Swallownest care home decided to host their own VE Day celebrations today.
Colleagues decorated the Sheffield care home for the occasion. They also provided celebratory drinks and themed cakes too.
Staff and Residents had their very own flags and hats on, with a glass of sherry to watch the celebrations on TV.
Everyone across the home got involved in the celebrations in some way. VE Day music played out across the home during lunch time, and Residents shared their memories from what happened 75 years ago.
Winnie, one of the Residents, commented “Today has brought back so many memories”.
Amanda Fields, home manager, said “I loved the atmosphere in our home today, this is just what we all need!”
