Safari Stu visits Capwell Grange care homeHC-One’s Capwell Grange care home Residents were delighted to welcome Safari Stu to the home as he brought along a range of animals for all to see.

Colleagues and Residents enjoyed holding each of the animals as Stu described each animals’ different characteristics and facts about them. Residents enjoyed feeling the different textures of the animals, comparing the scales and fur, which was a great method of sensory stimulation.

The more unusual animals were a favourite of the Residents, including a champagne skunk and Madagascan Tenrec.

By the end of the session, Residents had overcome any of the fears they may have had and are looking forward to hopefully welcoming Stu back to the home one day soon.

Mary Quinn, home manager, commented: “Residents have really enjoyed themselves this afternoon, everyone was so impressed with the animals and enjoyed holding them.”
