Residents enjoy a Taste of India at Hexham care homeResidents at HC-One’s Acomb Court care home in Hexham have been enjoying taster days, where they enjoy a meal from different culinary cultures from across the world.

Residents got together to have a 'Taste of India' day and explore their culture. It started at lunchtime with the kitchen preparing curry for the Residents to try. Residents enjoyed a chicken tikka masala curry served with rice and naan bread.

Later in the afternoon Residents had a selection of 'Indian snacks' i.e mango chutney, poppadum’s and peshwari bread to choose from. Some also tried the Kingfisher beer which they found had an ' interesting taste'.

Freda, a Resident at Acomb Court said: “I saw the Indian Flag displayed and it brought back memories of my Father who served in India.”

Acomb Court Residents enjoyed tasting the Indian food and found the Bollywood music totally different to what they were used to.

Acomb Court Home Manager said: “The themed food days are usually held on a Thursday; the kitchen did curry for lunch followed by Indian snacks and music in the afternoon. Everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
