Pudsey care home Residents enjoy some spring gardeningResidents at HC-One’s Acacia Court care home in Pudsey got their hands dirty and enjoyed some lovely spring time gardening.

Residents, Stan, Doreen, Carol and Janice all got their hands dirty in the Acacia Court garden, enjoying one of their favourite past times. Residents made flower hanging baskets and a flower stand for the garden.

The coronavirus lockdown has prevented Residents and staff enjoying the beautiful outdoors, as some have had to isolate, so for Residents to have the opportunity – finally – to go and get some fresh air is so beneficial for them.

Carol, a Resident at Acacia Court said: “I love the beautiful bright red and pink flowers, it’s very nice and relaxing watching every one going by whilst we are gardening.”

Gardening helps keep elderly general health in a better state by strengthening bones, muscles and joints; it also helps the elderly with balance resulting in less falls and keeps blood pressure at bay.
