Pontefract care home Residents enjoy rock and roll afternoonResidents at HC-One’s Priory Gardens care home in Pontefract recently enjoyed a good old rock and roll afternoon with Colleagues.

Residents at Priory Garden Harmony unit were treated to a rock and roll afternoon where they had a sing and a dance with Colleagues and other Residents in the home. The afternoon was complete with glitter pom poms for Residents to use as a prop whilst they danced to some rock and roll classics.

Dancing improves strength and muscle function in older adults, as well as increasing balance and flexibility, leading to better stability and fewer injuries. Dancing can also improve Residents cardiovascular health, which will decrease their chances of developing heart disease.

Priory Gardens Home Manager, Alison Gill said: “I loved joining in the dancing, we had a good little boogie.”
