Pencoed care home staff and Residents create motivational artworkResidents from HC-One’s Glanffrwd care home in Pencoed have been engaging in craft sessions to create their own piece of artwork to help Residents through this uncertain time.

During the coronavirus pandemic, staff across all of our HC-One homes have been utilising their initiative to ensure Residents are still engaged in stimulating and rewarding activities.

Staff and Residents from Glanffrwd care home decided to put their art skills to the test and created a yellow brick road to happiness, that was inspired of course from the film The Wizard of Oz.

Residents created artwork in their rooms, such as rainbow umbrellas, smiley faces and balloons that would be displayed alongside the yellow brick road to happiness for everyone to see.

Along with staff, Residents have decided that once all this is over, they are going to through one big party to celebrate with their loved ones and they cannot wait.

Glanffrwd Home Manager, Joan Thomas, said: “It’s an absolutely great idea, it gets our Residents involved and gives us some motivation looking forward to spending time with our loved ones.”
