North Shields care home receive letters from local schoolResidents at HC-One’s Redesdale Court care home in North Shields have been on the receiving end of some lovely heart-warming letters of hope and encouragement from children and staff at the local school.

Colleagues at Redesdale Court received a call from a local high school and agreed that it would be lovely for the Residents to hear from staff and students, especially during these unprecedented times.

Days later, the home received a stack of envelopes with a lovely note from Kathryn Furness so Stacey, Redesdale Court wellbeing coordinator, decided to spend some one to one time with Residents, handing out the individual letters. This cheered up the Residents as they were so happy to hear from the outside world and it gave them something different to talk about.

One Redesdale Court Resident said: “How lovely it is to receive these letters; can I keep it?”

Peggy, a Resident at Redesdale Court asked if it was okay to write back to them, so she began to handwrite her own personal response to the staff and students at the school.

Daniel Ridley, Redesdale Court Home Manager said: “It’s such a lovely thought from the school, little things like this really make a different.

each letter was different and started a variety of conversations. The pile of letters was large and enough for all residents to have one each.”
