North Shields care home celebrate Bastille DayResidents at HC-One’s Redesdale Court care home in North Shields celebrated Bastille Day earlier this month after Colleagues helped decorate the home in red white and blue buntings and other French themed objects.

The home was dressed with French decorations and wellbeing coordinator, Stacey, designed a daily newsletter around the National Day of France.  The Newsletter contained a French beginners word search and information surrounding Bastille Day.

Morning activities included Pop Cups and French Boules, before Residents were served a French themed lunch including French Onion Soup by Colleagues who were dressed in French themed outfits. Following lunch, Residents shared French communications from a Residents Family who live in the south of France, this included pictures and videos.

One Redesdale Court Resident said: "It's lovely seeing everyone dressed up, we have had such a laugh.”

Redesdale Court Colleagues also received activity printouts from Monkseaton High School and a lovely card made by their French students wishing all the Residents a Happy Bastille Day.

The 3pm trolleys were dressed for Residents and included French pastries such as Croissants and Macaroons. Finally, Redesdale Court Kitchen staff served Coq au Vin and Tarte Tatin to Residents for their evening meal.

Redesdale Court Home Manager Daniel Ridley said: "The home looked great, everyone did a brilliant job and it was, as always, lovely to see the Residents enjoying themselves."
