New Resident panda at Netherton care homeJean Morris is one of the longest staying Residents at Ash Grove (Dudley) care home in the West Midlands and quite recently she has a new roommate.

His name is Bobo, he stands about eight inches tall, is black and white and loves his bamboo shoots! Of course, he is a panda (but don’t worry not the real thing!) Bobo came all the way from China especially for Jean.

Jean stated Bobo is “very well behaved” and fussed over by all of the HC-One Colleagues at Ash Grove. Staff have assured us that Bobo did complete his period of isolation before his arrival at the home and the Wellbeing Coordinator gave him a good scrub too.

One Colleague commented, “Bobo is very good company for Jean. She loves her animal documentaries so this was the perfect companion for her. She has taken a keen interest in pandas and now researches all about pandas in the animal books we have.”

Mandy, who works with the domestic team said, “I will help to keep him clean and tidy alongside Jean!”
