Residents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Bakers Court care home were delighted as they engaged in a sing-a-long afternoon together in the home.
To engage with BBC Music Day, Residents took part in a rendition of ‘You are my sunshine’ which everyone enjoyed, and recalled memories together of the times they sang this song alongside others as children.
After the sing-a-long, Residents enjoyed a warm drink and a slice of home made cake as they discussed how they would love to start a choir in the home one day.
Some Residents found it amusing to sing the song whilst it was raining outside, suggesting they also sing ‘Singing in the rain’.
Munahimaila Mutinta, home manager, commented: “Residents have enjoyed their sing-a-long today and it would be lovely for them to start their own choir one day.”
