Making scones at the Millbrook care homeWhen Colleagues hear about what skills the Residents have at Millbrook care home, they always want to put this to good use and that’s exactly what we did when Emma told us oh how she used to bake with her mother as a child.

Gavin, a Colleague at Millbrook, organised for Emma to make some delicious fruit and cheese scones which were used for the soup accompaniment and afternoon tea for other Residents that day. Nothing is better than homemade cakes, pastries and scones!

During mixing the flour, Emma talked about baking when she was little with her mum and told Gavin how she thought the scones would taste, “These are going to be lovely!”

Emma had her usual cup of tea after the mixing had finished – a hard days work is done.

Home Manager, Andrew Bradley, commented, “Baking is an ideal activity as the Residents can remember cooking at an earlier age and can discuss what they did.”
