Lots of birthday celebrations at Tameside care homeFour Residents celebrated their birthdays at HC One’s The Beeches care home this week.

The celebrations at the Tameside home started off with Jean who turned 79. Staff made sure the day was special for Jean by singing and giving her a lovely cake and some wine to enjoy. She also finished the day with a video call to her daughter and telephone call to her sister.

Jean said “I had a lovely day, it was one of the best birthdays I’ve had!” The family were so happy and overwhelmed by the efforts staff had gone to, making sure the day was special even though they couldn’t be there in person.

The next celebration was for Annie, who turned 88. She started her special day by opening cards from family, and looking at photos she had received from her grandchildren in Australia! Drinks and cake were given to Annie, she also had a video call from her daughter.

The next birthday at the care home was for Mary turning an incredible 101! Staff danced to songs and put on a show for Mary. She opened up cards and received beautiful flowers from her loved ones. It was lovely for Mary to video call her son on such a joyous occasion.

Finally finished with Nellie who tuned 98 years old. More dancing, drinks and cake to be had and she had a lovely video call with her daughter.

Colleague Sade said “It is lovely to be able to celebrate birthdays with our lovely ladies, we all wanted each day to be extra special and I think we all did the ladies proud.”
