Indoor cinema experience at Surrey care homeFieldway care home in Mitcham, held an indoor cinema experience for some of the Residents today.

The scene was set by closing the curtains, lights were dimmed and Residents were socially distanced seated in rows; exactly how a real cinema would feel.

A food and drinks trolley was set up, offering sweet and savoury snacks including biscuits, chocolates and cold/hot refreshments.

Residents arrived to entertaining music being played to create the ambience of a real cinema and a white board was used to describe the film that was going to be shown and the timings.

A Fieldway Colleague commented, “Our Residents enjoyed this as it allowed them time to settle and get comfy, to prepare for the film to start. Halfway through we had an interval, for a welcome cuppa and delicious home-baked cake to be served!”

13 residents attended and everyone really enjoyed the comedy film with lots of laughter and excitement all round!

The experience was a really lovely afternoon and an exciting change to just a normal day where Residents would come to just watch a film.

The choice of film was a hit with many as well as the whole way the lounge was set up for them. not to mention the spread of snacks!

Joseph.C, a Resident at Fieldway said, "The snacks were a lovely treat!"

Home Manager, Dahlia Clarke, remarked, “(it was) a very pleasant afternoon for the residents, it was very pleasing seeing how engaged they all were and hearing lots of laughter all round!”
