Ilkeston Residents stay connected during lockdownResidents at HC One’s Victoria Park care home have been keeping in touch with their family and friends as much as possible during this difficult time.

Each week the Ilkeston care home aim to help Residents send letters or photographs out to families when possible, as this helps Relatives to feel that little bit closer to their loved ones.

This week, one Resident named Brian, wrote a letter to his wife and the Colleagues took photos of him doing this, as well as him holding a framed image of his wife which he loves and shows to everyone on a daily basis.

Brian commented “I love my wife, I miss her”.

After Brian’s wife received the letter and photos, she sent in a ‘goodie box’ filled with things of Brian’s from home. The Colleagues disinfected the items and they were passed onto Brian who was very pleased to receive them.

Having these types of items sent into the home, and sending the letters to Relatives, helps everybody feel more connected in these times.
