Hayes care home Residents enjoy British Museum tripResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Aston House care home were delighted as they took a trip to the local British Museum as they embraced the interesting history.

The Residents especially enjoy visiting historic places as they always have done during their lives, and when one Resident, Helen, noticed the Egyptian exhibit, she began relaying facts about the period that she had remembered learning during her childhood, showing a keen interest in the era.

Everyone walked around the many exhibits, admiring the many figures and statues as well as educating themselves with various new and interesting facts.

A tea break was enjoyed by all in the café, as Residents indulged in a delicious warm beverage and a pastry each, discussing their favourite parts of the museum and what they especially liked seeing.

Seema Jose, home manager, commented: “Activities such as this are wonderful for Residents as it gives them such a great sense of well-being, helping them reminisce of things they learnt during their childhood and revisiting their favourite parts of history.”
