Greater London Resident reunited with long lost familyMornington Hall’s Wellbeing Coordinator recently found a picture at the care home and on the back was a telephone number. What happened next was astonishing!

After contacting the phone number, staff had discovered it was a photo of siblings to one of the Residents, Maureen Laurie, whom she had not had any contact with for nearly 40 years.

After a telephone chat a video call was arranged for the families to see each other and talk. To say it was an emotional moment would be an understatement. The resemblance between the siblings was uncanny and after some tears of joy staff arranged for the additional video call with the rest of the family.

“To be a part of this reunion is something I will never forget”, said one of the Colleagues.

Maureen remarked, “I didn't know they (her siblings) looked for me”. She said that she really enjoyed remembering some stories her sibling was saying.

Home Manager, Pervine King, remarked, “How lovely to reunite a family, this brought tears to us all. It was a memorable moment for everyone involved”.
