Residents at HC-One’s Springfield House care home in Gateshead recently celebrated Roald Dahl day on 13th September, with a few books and a film night of their choice.
The Roald Dahl celebrations took place all over the home, with Residents and Colleagues from floor two and the Grace unit coming together to celebrate the life and the works of the amazing child author, Roald Dahl.
There were a few stories that Resident hadn’t heard of but the most popular stories, Charlie and the Chocolate factory and Matilda, everyone knew. So, during the afternoon, floor two watched Charli and The Chocolate Factory and the Grace unit choose to watch Matilda.
One Springfield House Resident said: “I didn’t realise that Roald Dahl had so many books and films.”
Residents and Colleagues then settled down to enjoy a nice lazy Sunday afternoon meal and watch their Roald Dahl films.
Springfield House Home Manager Kay Rudd said: “Some of the Residents could remember reading Roald Dahl books to their children, so they really enjoyed the day.”
