Coventry care home surprise maintenance staff with new bikeAndy Gibbs, one of the maintenance staff at HC One’s Victoria Gardens care home had his bike stolen. However the community gathered donations to get him a replacement.

Whilst Andy was hard at work and keeping the Coventry care home safe, somebody stole his bike from him. This horrid act came as a shock and upset everybody as to how anybody can act this way, especially during these tough times.

Andy doesn’t like a fuss and would never ask for help, so as a team, the home decided they would ask the community on his behalf.
The local neighbourhood watch group has supported the home through COVID-19 and were more than happy to oblige. They helped turn something sad into an amazing act of kindness.

Neil, their spokesperson, acted without hesitation by locating, servicing and cleaning a bike donated to the community. He then presented it to Andy at distance today.

The smile on Andy’s face was incredible. The home cannot thank Neil and the rest of the community enough.

Andy commented “I’m overwhelmed, thank-you!”
