Civic traditions celebrated at Gateshead care homeCivic traditions celebrated at Gateshead care homeHC-One’s Springfield House care home in Low Fell, Gateshead welcomed the Mayor of Gateshead, Councillor Michael Hood, the Lady Mayoress and the Mace-bearer for a formal visit on Friday 28th February.

Residents and team members at Springfield House were delighted to greet the Mayor, the Lady Mayoress and the Mace-bearer of Gateshead to the home last week. 

The special visitors received a tour of the homes facilities, where they had the opportunity to speak with people living in the home and find out more about the care and support provided.

After the tour, Residents and staff gathered to listen to talk about the civic traditions of Gateshead which included the interesting history behind the robes and chains of office.

Residents enjoyed asking questions to the Mayor, Lady Mayoress and Mace-bearer as well as presenting them with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the home.
