Cambridgeshire Residents delve into digitalThe Red House care home in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, has recently taken the step to obtain a large interactive activity table for the Residents.

This device, which is in the design of a table, has a multitude of apps and games to suit all Residents. Activities include therapeutic colouring, quizzes, word-searches, guessing games, cross stitch and even fishing!

Many Residents are amazed by it and are really enjoying getting to learn about technology and finding out how to use it all and the endless opportunities it has.

Jane is a Resident at The Red House and said, “It’s very interesting, it has some great games on it.”

Similarly, Resident Pam added, “I enjoy using it with the carers.”

A Colleague at The Red House said, “The biggest feature we have benefitted from is the dementia-based applications which allow the Resident to simply wipe their hand across to screen to create firework displays and light shows which they have taken a huge interest in. As we learn what each Resident enjoys, we hope to expand the variety of apps to suit even more.”

Wellbeing Coordinator, Chris, remarked, “It has been lovely seeing the Residents enjoying technology and not being afraid of delving in and having a go.”
