Blackburn care home delights at winning hamper after receiving nomination from local communityResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Old Gates care home were delighted to find out that they were one of ten lucky care home winners to be in receipt of a gift hamper.

The competition was arranged by local Blackburn business, Rummage Rescuers, who’s aim is to support the local community by raising funds through community recycling.

After initially placing a post on social media announcing the “10 hampers for 10 care homes” competition, it was up to members of the local community to nominate their favourite care homes to receive a gift hamper.

Upon having the hamper delivered to the home, Colleagues remarked that they were truly humbled by some of the lovely comments made about the home by members of the local community, as well as how grateful they were to have been one of the care homes to have won this wonderful prize.

Helen Holden, home manager, commented: “It’s an honour to be a recipient of this prize. It means a lot to feel so appreciated within our community and it really makes everything we do feel even more worthwhile. It’s such a fantastic gesture and it has really made everyone’s day.”
