Birch Court celebrates kindnessHC-One’s Birch Court care home celebrated kindness in the home as they were visited by Managing Director Ruth Yates, and Area Director, Martin Holmes to thank them for the kindness they had shown recently.

The AD and MD visited the home to present the team with a Kindness in Care award following the receipt of a letter which was submitted by a Resident’s husband. The letter detailed the high level of care and support that was provided to his wife in the home, and praised the team for their compassion and kindness in sometimes difficult circumstances.

The team were overwhelmed to be presented with the award, and both the Resident and her husband were there to join in with the celebrations, which made the afternoon even more special.

Many an emotional tear and laugh was shared as the team said how privileged they felt to be able to support the Residents they care for, and how grateful they felt to be recognised for this.

One Colleague commented: “These are the moments that make it all worthwhile, we have such an important job but it is always amazing to feel appreciated and acknowledged for making a difference.”

Catherine Haycock, Home Manager, also remarked: “I feel immense pride to work alongside such a fantastic team, the award is well deserved and is a testament to their hard work and commitment.”
