HC-One’s Daisy Nook care home in Ashton-under-Lyne is celebrating having received a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The team at Daisy Nook was delighted to receive an impressive report that rated the home as ‘Good’ in all areas, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for Residents. This also shows that the home is Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsible and Well-led.
The inspectors were full of praise for staff at Daisy Nook, highlighting the kind ways in which they provide care for people living at the home. This sentiment was echoed by Residents, who made remarks such as: “The staff are very capable. I’ve been here a long time and I can see that the staff know their jobs and how to look after people.” Another Resident added: “All I can say is that I am well looked after and I am very happy here.”
The report reflected the variety of stimulating activities available to Residents at the home, including a Residents’ choir, afternoon tea, visits to the park and arrangements to start a dementia-friendly bingo session.
The home was also praised for its ‘wishing well’ initiative, which was introduced to enable Residents to make a wish for activities and outings that they would like to participate in.
