Llys Newydd celebrate a traditional St David's DayDespite the bracing cold courtesy of “The Beast from the East”, spirits could not be dampened at Llys Newydd Care Home as they celebrated a traditional St David’s Day, the patron saint of Wales.

Residents enjoyed a tasty lunch of warming Chicken & Leek Pie and then during the afternoon,  were encouraged to dress up whilst CD's were played of Welsh Choirs so that everyone could sing along to familiar Welsh songs.

Later the Residents were served the traditional broth of Lamb Cawl which is a national dish accompanied by a wedge of cheese and crusty bread.

They finished the day off with Bara Birth, which is a renowned teacake in Wales, and of course Welsh cakes!

Everyone had a wonderful time and really got into the spirit!
