Ash Wednesday afternoon trip for Cheshire care home ResidentsSome Residents and Colleagues at Lauren Court spent a lovely afternoon at Chester Cathedral to attend an Ash Wednesday service recently.

The religious service was held within the Cathedral’s beautiful Lady Chapel, before Residents went on to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in the Refectory cafĂ©.

Afternoon tea seemed to be a big hit with Residents, as the tables were beautifully laid to accommodate the various hot refreshments, delightful sandwiches and sweet treats.

Of course, this led to a light-hearted debate about the correct way to prepare a scone - with either jam or cream first – and Residents enjoyed being able to joke around with one another about this.

Sarah Molloy, Home Manager, commented: “It was lovely to be able to take some Residents to such a cherished Cathedral. The service was lovely, and the afternoon as a whole was greatly enjoyed by all.”
