Art extravaganza at Dundee care home open dayHC-One’s Balcarres care home in Broughty Ferry, Dundee opened its doors to the local community for a creative celebration of the seventh annual Care Home Open Day.

Care Home Open Day is a national event that gives local people the opportunity to learn more about the care services at the heart of their community. 

This year’s theme was ‘Celebrating Art in Care,’ with HC-One launching a national Art Competition to encourage, Residents, their loved ones, colleagues and neighbours to unleash their creativity and design their own masterpiece. 

Live entertainment from Harry McFayden was enjoyed by all, as well as, stalls, a tombola, guessing games, craft sessions. Residents created beautiful floral displays and Ray Bowman, Maintenance Operative unveiled his beautiful sculpture which he submitted to the Balcarres Art Competition.

Balcarres Home Manager, Lynn McLean said: “Thank you to everyone for making our 2019 Care Home Open Day such a special and memorable event. We raised just under £300 which will all be donated to our Resident’s Comfort Fund.”
